In the past year her career has come full circle, as she has returned to the traditional practice of law, but within a niche of advising and advocating for a wide variety of food industry and small business clients. She assists clients with business formation and development, contracts, leases, and regulatory issues. Using her prior legal experience, she again represents buyers and sellers, from beginning to end, in personal real estate transactions. In the same arena she represents lenders as their closing agent and other corporate clients in the purchase and sale of businesses and commercial property.

Susan graduated from Vermont Law School in 1993 and, in 1989 received her BA in Economics/Business and Psychology from Cornell College in her home state of Iowa. Her initial legal practice began as a public defender and then as an employment law attorney. After 5 years, she left practice to find a way to use her education and training in combination with her passion, food. Her chosen home of Vermont, with its excellent food producers and purveyors, has provided her an environment to do just that. In addition, Vermont feeds her personal interests of hiking and skiing and, of course, cooking.
