BANKING/LENDING INSTITUTIONS

Bauer, Gravel, Farnham, Nuovo, Parker & Lang has represented banks and other lending institutions successfully for a number of years. Our experience in bank representation has been with respect to regulatory matters, general banking law and specific transactions and litigation matters. Through its representation of these clients, the Firm has developed expertise in a number of banking law related areas. We feel that we have developed a good working relationship with both the Vermont Department of Banking, Insurance & Securities and Health Care Administration, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the National Credit Union Administration.

Additionally, we have been successful in representing banks in several multi-million dollar lender liability lawsuits and this Firm was co-counsel representing a Vermont bank in a lawsuit against its former president which resulted in a verdict on behalf of the bank in the amount of $8.7 million.

BANKRUPTCY

Whether you are a creditor seeking to recover money from a debtor in bankruptcy or an individual or entity that needs the protection of the Bankruptcy Code, Bauer, Gravel, Farnham, Nuovo, Parker & Lang have the skills to protect your interests. Most recently, the Firm represented the Lyndonville Savings Bank & Trust Co. in the Bolton Valley Ski Resort bankruptcy. On a smaller scale, the firm represents individuals filing for protection under Chapter 7 and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. The firm is also capable of pursuing and defending motions for relief from stay, fraudulent transfer actions, and engaging in all other bankruptcy litigation in Vermont and New York.

FAMILY LAW

Attorneys Eric Parker and Thomas Nuovo have represented parents, grandparents, and children in divorce, separation, visitation, child support, paternity, and related family matters. Mr. Parker handles high-stakes, complex matters where valuation of closely held businesses, valuation and distribution of pensions, and determination of maintenance/alimony are at issue. The firm can also advise on pre-marital agreements and post-divorce issues such as modification of child support, changes in visitation rights, and interstate contact issues. The Family Court has designated and appointed Mr. Parker Property Master, Visitation Master, and Acting Magistrate. He has also successfully mediated many settlements in previously contested divorce matters. Bauer, Gravel, Farnham, Nuovo, Parker & Lang maintains a continuing presence in the Family Court and on the Family Court advisory and bench/bar committees.

Attorney Joseph Bauer has had several years' experience in the field of municipal law. For a number of years, he has been counsel to the Town of North Hero and also attorney for the Grand Isle Fire District. As such, Bauer, Gravel, Farnham, Nuovo, Parker & Lang is fully capable of assisting municipalities in the myriad of legal issues that they face on a daily basis and also can provide quality legal services to individuals who find themselves in conflict with any municipal regulations. These problems most often arise in matters in the area of zoning law and both Mr. Bauer and the attorneys in the firm who deal with real estate issues are fully conversant with the laws and procedures involved in the area of zoning and planning.

WORKER'S COMPENSATION CLAIMS LITIGATION

Attorneys Thomas Nuovo and Eric Parker have many years of experience in dealing with all aspects of worker's compensation law.
