The son of a career Foreign Service Officer, Matt grew up in Europe, but Vermont was always home.  Matt earned a BA in Physics from Norwich University in 1988 and received his law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles in 1997.

After Norwich, Matt earned a commission in the US Army and served with the 10^th Mountain Division (LI) stationed out of Fort Drum, New York.  Following that Matt worked for a while with a business consultancy and research firm before heading off to law school.     

Upon completion of law school, Matt returned to Vermont where he worked for the State of Vermont’s Legislative Council, prior to joining the law firm of Ward & Babb in 1998.  Matt recently joined Bauer, Gravel, Farnham, Nuovo, Parker & Lang and has the joined the Firm as an experienced practitioner eager to learn new skills and contribute to the team.  He is licensed to practice law in Vermont and California (currently on inactive status).  Matt practices extensively in Banking, Business, Collections, Commercial, Real Property and Landlord/Tenant law. 

Matt has traveled extensively, preferring to go by motorcycle, including cross the United States, Canada, Siberia, Mongolia and Europe.  His tamer pursuits including hiking and cross-country skiing.
