Elder Law and Health Law

Our elder law and estate planning practice areas intersect in a number of ways, such as planning for wills, trusts, estates, health care planning, guardianships, and probate administration. However, our elder law practitioners can assist you in a variety of matters which go beyond simple estate planning, including fiduciary representation, public benefits advice, including but not limited to Social Security and Medicaid planning, insurance matters, residents’ rights, housing counseling, income/estate/gift tax counseling, nursing home litigation, and age/disability discrimination in employment and housing. The elder law practice area provides a comprehensive suite of legal services, advice and counseling to Vermont seniors.

We also have significant experience in health law matters. We represent a number of nursing home clients and regularly assist them with a wide range of healthcare issues, including but not limited to payment and reimbursement problems, regulatory compliance, and employment matters.

Our elder law and healthcare practice group is comprised of attorneys with specific areas of expertise to meet the diverse legal needs of our clients. We have represented both individuals in need of end of life and long-term care planning as well as businesses and healthcare providers in need of assistance with regulatory and payment issues.
