Jonathan M. Stebbins
Jon joined the Firm in the spring of 2001 and began a four-year Law Office Study shortly thereafter. After working for two years in the Firm’s litigation department, Jon joined the Firm’s real estate department in 2003. Since that time, he has worked in all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions, including a focus on the state and municipal permit process, resolving title issues, conducting title searches, and acting as Settlement Agent for countless real estate closings. In February, 2006, Jon sat for and successfully passed the Vermont Bar Exam and was thereafter admitted to the Vermont Bar in June, 2006. In addition to general real estate matters, Jon also has experience in land use and zoning issues, LLC formation and litigation related to real property disputes.
A native Vermonter, Jon graduated from the University of Vermont School of Natural Resources in 1998 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management in the Private Sector. After college, Jon worked in the marketing department for the Vermont Ski Areas Association for three years, promoting the state’s ski industry.
In addition to his legal practice, Jon enjoys spending time in the beautiful Vermont outdoors. In the summer, he can often be found on the golf course and in the winter, he can often be found on the ski slopes. Jon lives in Richmond with his wife, Emily, and their two daughters. Jon has served on the Board of Directors with the Richmond Land Trust since 2020 and is an Associate Director with the Smugglers’ Notch Homeowners Association.
