Bauer Gravel Farnham Real Estate Transaction/Closings COVID-19 Policy

Bauer Gravel Farnham Real Estate Transaction/Closings COVID-19 Policy

We are concerned and aware of the impact the 2019 Coronavirus (COVID-19) is having on the country, Vermont, and all of our clients, employees, and their families. In accordance with CDC policies and guidelines, we have adopted several policies and procedures to support the health and safety of the communities in contact with members of our firm, which are available for review HERE.

In addition, Bauer Gravel Farnham is continuing the practice of prohibiting in-person real estate closings for the foreseeable future.  We firmly believe that the risk of infection and the potential resulting harm to our clients, our business partners and our employees continues to be too great to allow in-person closings at the present time.

Upon commencing representation of a client for a real estate sale, purchase or refinance transaction, our office will coordinate with the client for the execution of a Power of Attorney form allowing one of our attorneys to execute legal or financial documents on the client’s behalf at closing.  Bauer Gravel Farnham is waiving all legal fees for the preparation of the Power of Attorney form and the act of executing documents on the client’s behalf as Agent under the Power of Attorney.

On the date of closing, our attorneys will review closing documents with clients on a telephone call to clearly and thoroughly explain all legal and financial obligations the client is making in connection with their real estate sale, purchase or refinance.  After closing, clients will receive copies of all closing documents via an encrypted electronic mail message.

As is always the case, Bauer Gravel Farnham protects and safeguards its clients’ financial well-being to the highest degree, whether through maintaining the confidentiality of non-public personal information or managing client funds through rigorous trust account management.

If you have specific questions about any part of this process or how it may impact your real estate transaction, please contact Dan Farnham or Jon Stebbins for more information.
